Ontario law, not generic insurance theory
Direct compensation under section 263 of the Insurance Act, the verbal threshold in section 267.5, the RIBO Code of Conduct in R.R.O. 1990, Reg. 991 — the material a Level 1 candidate is actually tested on.

RIBO reported 6,185 Level 1 exams in 2024/25 and 3,201 passes — roughly one candidate in two comes back. Each attempt costs $325. This platform drills the eight competency areas of RIBO's public Blueprint: Ontario insurance regulation and the Code of Conduct, Ontario auto (OAP 1, the Fault Determination Rules and the SABS), personal and commercial property, liability, underwriting, claims and errors and omissions, and brokerage operations and trust accounting.
Ontario auto insurance is a regime of its own. Nothing here is transposed from another province or from the United States: the questions are written against the Ontario Automobile Policy, the Fault Determination Rules and the Statutory Accident Benefits Schedule as they actually read.

222 questions on Ontario auto alone: OAP 1 section by section, the OPCF endorsements, fault in 25 per cent increments under O. Reg. 668/90, accident benefit deadlines under O. Reg. 34/10 and the tort threshold.
75 questions in 105 minutes, drawn across all eight topics in proportion to the bank, with a 75 per cent training threshold applied to the result. Repeat as often as you like.
Two to four sentences per question: the answer, the statute, regulation or policy section behind it, and why the other options fail. You learn the reference, not just the letter.
See which of the eight areas is holding you back before you book the exam, with best score, questions answered and mock exams completed for each.

What this platform is, what it is not, and what RIBO actually publishes about the Level 1 exam.
No, and nobody can honestly claim to. RIBO does not publish the number of questions, the duration or the pass mark for the Level 1 licensing exam. What RIBO does publish is a competency Blueprint, and that is what our eight topics are built on. Our mock exam runs 75 questions in 105 minutes with a 75 per cent threshold: those are our training parameters, chosen to be demanding, not official figures.
They are written from scratch against the public law: the Registered Insurance Brokers Act, the RIBO Code of Conduct in R.R.O. 1990, Reg. 991, the Insurance Act, the Ontario Automobile Policy (OAP 1), the Fault Determination Rules (O. Reg. 668/90) and the Statutory Accident Benefits Schedule (O. Reg. 34/10). No official exam question is reproduced, and no competitor's question bank has been copied.
RIBO's 2024/25 annual report records 6,185 Level 1 exams and 3,201 passes, which is a pass rate of about 51 per cent. Each attempt costs $325, and a candidate is limited to two attempts with a given provider before a waiting period applies. Those are the published numbers; the rest is preparation.
Because Ontario automobile insurance is a regime of its own and it is where candidates lose marks. Direct compensation under section 263 of the Insurance Act, fault assigned in 25 per cent increments under O. Reg. 668/90 without reference to weather or road conditions, accident benefits under O. Reg. 34/10 and the verbal threshold in section 267.5 have no equivalent elsewhere. Material written for another province is worse than useless here.

No. Preparation courses and the licensing process itself run through RIBO and the exam providers. This platform is a practice tool: it drills the material and shows you where you are weak before you book. It does not enrol you, register you or issue any licence.
No. RIBOExamTrainer is an independent private study platform. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or associated with the Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario, the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario, the Insurance Institute of Canada or the Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario. Only RIBO registers brokers in Ontario.
The bank is written against Ontario law as it stood in September 2026, including changes such as the 60-day notice requirement for snow and ice claims under the Occupiers' Liability Act. Where a figure changes by regulation — accident benefit limits in particular — the questions deliberately test the principle rather than the amount, so that the answer stays right when the number moves. If a rule changes after that date, always check the current version at the official source.
Yes. The platform is fully responsive, so the question bank, the study notes and the mock exams work the same on a phone, a tablet or a desktop.
